Bangkok Condo Boom a New Transformation in History of Real Estate.

A massive building boom in Bangkok is underway. There’s 6 million square feet of construction underway right now which is a remarkable transformation in just a couple of years in Bangkok.

Bangkok is undergoing one of the biggest development booms in decades, with a new generation of luxury residential towers being built. It’s a multi-billion dollar transformation that stretches from the heart of Sukhumvit outward towards the suburbs. Shiny glass and steel high-rise and mid-rise residential towers are sprouting up across Bangkok’s once-neglected neighborhoods.

The flurry of new construction includes 50 major projects worth about $4 billion going up throughout the city. Simultaneously, new home building permits are also growing rapidly. Since 2011, the number of new home building permits has grown steadily, moving upward from 2,139 permits in 2011 to 6,036 in 2015, according to the Authorities.

Bangkok condo boom

At On Nut Crossing near Best Beef Restaurant, the Siamese Sukhumvit (Branded as S.48), a 39-story condominium building, is now under construction and is expected to be ready to move in 2019; its 358 luxury condos are already 40 percent sold, according to developer Siamese Asset. Prices range from 4 million Baht for a one-bedroom condo to penthouses at 28 million baht for 159 square meter penthouse.

The building buzz is luring some big-name corporations to relocate to the Bangkok area.
