Doi Inthanon National Park comprises 301,500 Rai that covers wide areas of mountain ranges and rainforest. Doi Inthanon sits tall at 2,565 meters above sea level and is the tallest peak in Thailand. Many rivers originate from this region, including the famous Mae Ping river which is the main resource for electricity generation at the Bhumibol Dam in  the nearby Tak province. The natural beauty of this region extends beyond mountains and forests. Mae Ya waterfall is among the most beautiful waterfalls in Thailand. Chaing Mai night safari is an open zoo located in Chiang Mai city. It covers an area of 819 Rai, making it the first night zoo in Thailand and the largest night zoo in the world. Chiang Mai night safari operates during both daytime and nighttime, making it an attraction that can be enjoyed all day long. 

Chiang Mai is the center of astronomy of Southeast Asia. The National Observatory is home to the largest telescope in Southeast Asia. With a diameter of 2.4 meters and the perfect location right on the equator, this gigantic telescope offers a clear view of both Northern and Southern sky. Princess Sirindhorn AstroPark and National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand are a major part of the Thai astronomical research society.
